[ENG-SPN] The Wild Memory of Asturias / La Memoria Salvaje de Asturias

Nature has always been both the great concealer and the most faithful protector of that impetuous set of archetypes, which, born from the stormy amniotic waters of the collective unconscious, was christened, after its birth at the dawn of time, as Mythology.

Perhaps that is why rural environments, due to their proximity, retain the ability to intuit or sense intriguing presences, which, depending on that metaphorical labyrinth that is the environment still little or not at all altered by the hand of man, retain all the force of their relevance, even though they are generally presented to us under the name of Folklore.

In Asturias, places like this still survive, such as the mysterious Xanas Gorge, which also coincides with the so-called Route of the Relics. This route, crossing several mountainous municipalities, ends at the summit of Monsacro, where even the city-dwelling adventurer can still sense, upon venturing a little, that they are never truly alone.

La Naturaleza siempre ha sido la gran encubridora y a la vez, la más fiel protectora de ese impetuoso conjunto de arquetipos, que, naciendo de las tormentosas aguas amnióticas del inconsciente colectivo, fue bautizado, tras su nacimiento en el alba de los tiempos, como la Mitología.

Quizás por eso, los entornos rurales conserven, por su cercanía, la facultad de intuir o de presentir unas intrigantes presencias, que, dependiendo de ese metafórico laberinto, que es, todavía el entorno poco o nada alterado por la mano del hombre, conserva toda la fuerza de su vigencia, aunque generalmente se nos presente con el nombre de Folklore.

En Asturias, todavía sobreviven lugares así, como el misterioso Desfiladero de las Xanas, coincidente, además, con la denominada Ruta de las Reliquias, que, atravesando diferentes concejos montañosos finaliza en la cumbre del Monsacro, donde todavía incluso el aventurero de ciudad puede percibir, a poco que se adentre, que, en realidad, nunca está solo.
