[ENG-SPN] The Smile That Rewrote Faith: From Romanesque to Gothic / La sonrisa que reescribió la fe: del Románico al Gótico

Unlike Romanesque sculpture, eternally austere and melancholic, Gothic sculpture was characterized by a singularity, also employed by the brilliant Leonardo da Vinci, which is none other than the magnetic enigma represented by the smiles of faces that seemed to hint at a subliminal message beyond apparent orthodoxy.

Another significant detail was the Aryan character of some representations, generally made by trans-Pyrenean masters, which made Christ's blond hair a narrative likely biased and completely unrelated to the racial characteristics of the figure in question.

A diferencia de la escultura románica, eternamente adusta y cariacontecida, la escultura gótica se caracterizaba por esa singularidad, utilizada también por el genial Leonardo Da Vinci, que no es otra que el magnético enigma que representaban las sonrisas de unos rostros que parecían insinuar un mensaje subliminal más allá de la aparente ortodoxia.

Otro detalle significativo, estaba, además, en el carácter ario de unas representaciones, generalmente hechas por maestros transpirináicos, que hacían del cabello rubio de Cristo un relato probablemente partidista y ajeno por completo a las características raciales del personaje en cuestión.
