Y'all, I'm so thankful and excited over things I've done over the course of this summer so far.
First thing a garden. I've had mixed emotions about our garden. I was thinking since the grass in the field grew so well it must be amazing dirt. Turns out it wasn't. I know it's lacking calcium from my tomatoes. I had to Google why the bottoms of the tomatoes were black. According to Google it's a lack of calcium. Anyways, it's hit and miss with my Roma tomatoes, but my grape tomatoes are doing good. The celebrity tomatoes appear to be better than the Roma's but not as good as the grape tomatoes.
I also had several rows of purple hull peas and a couple rows of pintos. My purple hulls are rocking! The pintos did pretty good considering I was late planting.
My little grandson Micah helps me shell and has done so well with it. He enjoys helping, and I love when he wakes up an sees me shelling peas he wants his own bowl.

Another thing I've accomplished is baking breads. I started with a no yeast bread which was good.. but it was so dense. Maybe a bit too much for me. However, my boys liked it. Especially my husband. He said it was good for sopping up juice from the peas.

Today tho, I have faced my fears on kneadingš«£ and made the yeast bread. Oh my goodness! THIS is what I've been wanting. It smelled so good baking.. But the taste. It's wonderful!! After doing it once, this will be how I do it from now on. It really wasn't hard at all! And the same recipe can be used not only for loaf bread but rolls and pizza dough also! Yay!
