I harvested and cured 75 garlic and crocheted a mesh bang to hang them in
A few weeks ago I harvested my garlic and put it in the woodshed to cure, the total is around 75 but I have a separate small bag of garlic that have split skins and need to be used first...
I decided I wanted a nice mesh bag to hang them in. If you never grew garlic and had it around for many months, it needs air or else it can become moist and sprout :)
Yesterday I started crocheting this mesh bag from some ?cotton? string. At least I think it may be cotton, someone gave us a huge box of unidentified string many years ago :)
Here's the garlic after I trimmed it and tidied it a bit:
And here is the finished bag. I didn't use any pattern for this, just a very basic idea in the round, going from single to double to triple crochet and changing hook sizes.
I was somewhat worried the bag wouldn't be big enough to hold everything but it has plenty of stretch and all fit no problem, yay...
Some of this garlic will be used this fall to plant our crop for next year :)

It was very good to know about the bag made with old yarn by yourself. And the topic seemed very interesting to me. However, if you store garlic like this, it can be preserved for a long time.
