Transplanting is a critical phase in rice farming that involves the transition of rice seedlings that are about two to three weeks old from the nursery bed where it has spent that period to the farm where will spend the next 3 to 4 months of it's cycle depending on the kind of variety it is, some can last longer or even shorter.

The two to three weeks period that the seedlings spend in the nursery is the perfect time to prepare the land, and it also helps to study the seedlings properly, to confirm that the seedlings are good enough for the farm, or other provisions should be made.

Preparing the land can start with clearing and leveling the field, then you can proceed with flooding and finally fertilizing the farm before transplanting.

The process of transplanting is meant to maximize the seed growth preventing cases where seeds are damaged by water or eaten by pests, The seedlings are usually densely packed in the nursery which limits a lot of things that are very important to the rice seedlings so transplanting is very crucial to provide the much-needed space and to reduce competition.

There's a gradual transformation from the rice seedlings that look yellow, small, and lack strength to those that are turning bright green, as they should be, growing taller in a short while, and their roots get firm in the ground.
