I do enjoy some of the clickbait articles that pop up on my news aggregate and this one was one that really gave me a chuckle about how Burkina Faso and Mali have "retaliated" against the USA ban on their nationalities from entering the United States by doing the same thing in reverse. USA citizens are now banned from entering those two countries and I don't know how America is going to make it though this situation, lol.

The headline didn't mention the countries but it was something along the line of "more nations join the growing list of countries barring US citizens from travel." It was something like that because if it had said "Burkina Faso and Mali ban USA citizens from entry" I think most people would say "where?"
Americans are notoriously bad at geography and while I did know that these two places were in fact, countries, I would probably get it wrong if you were to give me a map of Africa and demand that I identify these two nations.

I'm trying to not be ethnocentric here but I don't really feel as though this is going to affect a great many Americans as far as their lives are concerned. I did read the article to try to find the "growing list" of countries that they mentioned in the headlines but it was just a bunch of countries that again, I don't think very many Americans would even think of visiting for any reason anyway.
I was more interested in the comments section and this particular link was to a rather liberal website so the lack of humor capabilities on the downvotes wasn't really all that surprising. This site is pretty TDS-heavy so it was expected. But I still found it funny.

Comments sections bring out the worst in people and I think there are a large portion of the global population that kind of treat these areas as a way of attempting to make strangers feel bad.

I don't know a great deal about either of these countries because we don't really learn a lot about them. I have traveled internationally a great deal more than the average redneck, but it never once crossed my mind to consider going to anywhere in Africa.
I don't fault their government for doing this though but I don't really believe that there is any sort of growing urge to ban Americans from traveling. As far as I know it seems to me that most nations are probably pretty excited about anyone that wants to come there and spend money on tourism.
I have kind of detached myself from politics lately because it all just seems to be riddled with intentional bad information but I didn't even know that there was a travel ban against the citizens of these two countries. I'd like to believe there is a genuine reason for doing so but the media is almost certainly simply calling it racism, because they call anything this to the point where the word doesn't really mean anything anymore.
I find this bad because just like the boy who cried wolf, the term gets thrown around so often that when there comes a time that there is actual and genuine racism that is going on, people are going to be a lot less likely to believe it.
Anyway, now I have to call my travel agent and change my upcoming vacation plans. Maybe next year things will get sorted out.
Can't we all just accept we are all 3rd world countries now, and just get over it?
The biggest problem Americans have is that we look very similar to the banksters who are trying to destroy the world. (and, often we harbor them)
This is going to become a HUGE problem in the near future, as jevvs are kicked out of many countries, including America. And some group just made a mocumentary series about searching out the Nazis who ran "that prison". Their words are all twisted, just like "racism". The lady who owns this house told me "they are hunting the _witz Nazis" To which i answered, so they are going after the Cocain Import Agency? My joke fell flat, and i had to explain Project Paperclip.
I consider it too tedious to fly, now that the Toilet Safety Administration is involved. So, i have never paid attention to travel bans.
The backlash to "racist" is going to be brutal. Instead of finding, and locking away from the public, all those who are actually violent, we have broken into just blaming groups, all the groups except the ones it is. And, i feel it is going to really turn ugly. :-(
Ha! I missed this in the news cycle but I am sure it is racist or something
