Quién no se ha encontrado con videos en internet que resuelven problemas o situaciones diarias de maneras ingeniosas, que no conocíamos? Esos llamados Life Hacks, suelen llamar la atención, y casi siempre terminan haciendo que yo me quede viendo el video hasta el final, aunque muy pocas veces había puesto en práctica algunos.

Sin embargo, a veces cuando queremos replicarlos en casa, terminan siendo un fraude, o por lo menos más complicados de lo que uno está acostumbrado a hacer, por lo que no siempre funcionan como lo vemos en las redes. Por eso, siempre es bueno ponerlos a prueba y verificar personalmente cuáles son los que funcionan, y que nos hagan esos procesos más fáciles en menos tiempo.

Es por eso que, durante febrero, puse en práctica 3 de ellos con muy buenos resultados, por lo que se los quiero compartir pues ya están verificados en cuanto a resultados, siendo en parte una ayuda no solo en la resolución de problemas, sino también en la economización de recursos.

1.- Porta jabones

Usar una tapa plástica grande como un soporte para el jabón del baño, ha sido una gran bendición para mi economía, ya que mis hijos solían dejar el jabón directamente en la jabonera, junto con el agua residual que cae de la ducha, provocando que se desgastara mucho más rápido, pues quedaba "nadando" en el recipiente y se deshacía mucho más rápido.

Y si, es fácil sacar el agua de la jabonera, pero no siempre lo recordaban, en cambio al ver la tapa "mal puesta" en ese lugar, colocaban la pastilla de jabón sobre ella cuando terminaban de bañarse.

2.- No más cabello en el desagüe

Cuando mi hijo mayor decidió dejarse crecer el cabello, empezó la tortura de tener montañas de cabello en el desagüe de la ducha, y aunque tengo un cepillo de dientes viejo para removerlo, era igualmente desagradable para ambos tener que hacer ese trabajo.

Para ello, coloqué un peine de cerdas anchas junto con el kit de shampoo y acondicionador, de manera que cuando usara este último, se peinara mientras se ducha, dejando el cabello que se le cae entre las cerdas del peine, haciendo más fácil la remoción de los sobrantes, sin tener que agacharse en el desagüe para evitar que se tape.

3.- ¿Dónde colocar los utensilios de cocina?

Si bien, en el mercado se encuentran variedad de porta utensilios, o también se pueden guardar en una gaveta, cuando no tienes ni lo uno ni lo otro, toca improvisar, y en este caso resultó todo un éxito.

Encontré una rejilla de donde vienen los bombones, que era pequeña pero bastante resistente. También ubiqué unos pequeños ganchos que usan para suspender tiras de cartitas de juguete que iban a ser desechados, pero que de no tenerlas, se pueden usar clips de tamaño grande y adaptarlos. Coloqué los ganchos en las ranuras y logré guardar cucharones y utensilios de gran tamaño sin ocupar mucho espacio, y siempre a mano al momento de cocinar.

Como ven, parecen muy fáciles o absurdos, pero han sido muy útiles en casa. Y ustedes, ¿han puesto en práctica algún life hack que hayan visto en internet? Sería excelente que podamos compartir algunos que ya hemos verificado que funcionan.

Who hasn’t come across videos online that solve everyday problems or situations in ingenious ways we never knew about? These so-called “life hacks” tend to catch our attention, and I almost always end up watching the video all the way through—even though I’ve rarely actually put any of them into practice.

However, sometimes when we try to replicate them at home, they turn out to be a letdown, or at least more complicated than what we’re used to doing, so they don’t always work as we see them online. That’s why it’s always good to test them out and personally verify which ones actually work and make those tasks easier and faster.

That’s why, during February, I put three of them into practice with very good results, so I want to share them with you since they’ve already been verified in terms of results, serving as a help not only in solving problems but also in saving resources.

1.- Soap Dish

Using a large plastic lid as a soap dish in the bathroom has been a real lifesaver for my budget, since my kids used to leave the soap right in the soap dish, along with the runoff from the shower, which caused it to wear down much faster—it would end up “floating” in the dish and dissolve much more quickly. And yes, it’s easy to drain the water from the soap dish, but they didn’t always remember to do it. Instead, when they saw the lid “misplaced” there, they’d put the bar of soap on top of it after they finished showering.

2.- No More Hair in the Drain

When my oldest son decided to grow out his hair, the nightmare of mountains of hair in the shower drain began, and although I have an old toothbrush to remove it, it was equally unpleasant for both of us to have to do that job.

To solve this, I placed a wide-toothed comb next to the shampoo and conditioner set, so that when he used the conditioner, he would comb his hair while showering, leaving the hair that fell out caught in the comb’s teeth. This made it easier to remove the leftover hair without having to bend down over the drain to prevent it from clogging.

3.- Where to store kitchen utensils?

While there are a variety of utensil holders on the market, or they can also be stored in a drawer, when you have neither, you have to improvise—and in this case, it turned out to be a complete success.

I found a small but sturdy wire rack from a box of chocolates. I also found some small hooks used to hang toy letter chains that were going to be thrown away, but if you don’t have those, you can use large paper clips and adapt them. I placed the hooks in the slots and was able to store large spoons and utensils without taking up much space, and they’re always within reach when cooking.
