Today I want to share a very special post! Something I experienced on my recent trip to Rome. I'm not someone who has much contact with birds; I usually try to keep my distance and admire their beauty from afar, but in Italy it was different... The closest I've ever been to seagulls here in my country is when they steal food from tourists on the beach 😅 but near the Colosseum and on the banks of the Tiber River, these beautiful birds came quite close and even posed for photos with people (although there was always a food motive behind those poses) 🤣

¡Hoy quiero compartir un post muy especial!. Algo que viví en mi reciente viaje a Roma. No soy una persona que tenga mucho contacto con las aves, trato de no acercarme mucho y de admirar su belleza a distancia, pero en Italia fue diferente... Lo más cerca que he estado de gaviotas aquí en mi país es cuando roban la comida de los turistas en la playa 😅 pero cerca del Coliseo y a las orillas del Río Tiber, estas hermosas aves se acercaban y hasta posaban para fotografías junto a las personas (aunque siempre había un interés alimenticio detrás de esas poses) 🤣

This is probably due to the sheer number of people who visit this city. They're looking for ways to steal the attention of tourists trying to take an epic photo in front of the Colosseum, or in front of any living work of art, since Rome is art. I can't be the only person who also took a picture of them, and of course, besides stealing the spotlight, they also deserved a prize simply for being beautiful... Still, I didn't trust them completely; I just remembered seagulls chasing my brother on the beach to steal some of his lunch.

Posiblemente se deba a la cantidad de personas que visitan esta ciudad. Ellos buscan la manera de robarse la atención de los turistas que pretenden tomarse una foto épica frente al Coliseo, o frente a cualquier obra de arte viva, ya que Roma es arte. No debo ser la única persona que también les tomó una fotografía obligatoria, y por supuesto que además de robar cámara también se llevaban un premio por el simple hecho de ser hermosos... Igual no confiaba mucho en ellos, solo recuerdo gaviotas correteando a mi hermano en la playa para quitarles un poco del pescado de su almuerzo 😂

There aren't many photos, but I loved the few I managed to take. Seagulls fly and walk all over Rome, especially near restaurants; during those days we almost always ate outside, under awnings and close to the birds, but surprisingly they are more well-behaved than the seagulls on Venezuelan beaches 🤣 All the photos I'm sharing here were taken in the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, the Colosseum, and by the Tiber River, near the Vatican. Some of my choir mates were able to take a couple of selfies with them, but I don't dare turn my back on them (it's because of childhood traumas) 😅 This is my first time participating in the contest, and I took advantage of the open theme to remember and share so much beauty. The first image in my post is the one I want to use for my official entry. I hope you like it, and good luck to all the participants!...

No son muchas fotografías, pero las pocas que pude tomar me encantaron. Las gaviotas vuelan y caminan por todo Roma, especialmente cerca de los restaurantes; en esos días casi siempre comimos afuera, bajo toldos y cerca de las aves, pero sorprendentemente son más respetuosas que las gaviotas en las playas venezolanas 🤣 Todas las fotografías que les comparto aquí las tomé en el Foro y el Palatino, el Coliseo, y el río Tiber, cerca del Vaticano. Algunos de mis compañeros de la coral pudieron tomarse un par de selfies con ellas, pero yo no me atrevo a darles la espalda (es por los traumas de la infancia) 😅 Es mi primera vez participando en el concurso, aproveché que la temática es libre para recordar y compartir tanta belleza. La primera imagen de mi post es con la cual quiero hacer mi entrada oficial, espero que les guste y suerte para todos los participantes...
