What a wonderful hike. My ankles hurt just from looking at that rocky root filled trail.
II would love to visit Annapolis some day. Served with many officers who went to the Naval Academy there. I had heard it is a beautiful place. I think during the Revolution it was Annapolis that Benedict Arnold was to give up the plans for to betray the Colonial Army.

It's funny...when I was a child I lived at the edge of a forest/mountain. Our daily activity (nearly daily) was to go up into the forest and roam around. We never thought of it as hiking. There were no trails. It was wonderful.
When I do my post on Annapolis and the surrounding area (my daughter has great shots of the Maryland War Memorial) I'll have to check out Benedict Arnold's association. Annapolis has such a rich history--but that was inevitable, given the geography of the harbor I guess.
Looking forward to the post. Tag me if you don't mind so I won't miss it.
Know what you mean about not thinking of it as hiking when you were kid. Grew up around woods in the country and played in them and the fields all day long.
