Un tesoro oculto en Siboney/​A hidden treasure in Siboney

Hay momentos en la vida que, aunque el tiempo pase, quedan grabados en la memoria con un cariño especial. Hoy quiero compartirles otra hermosa experiencia vivida junto a un grupo de hermanos en Cristo, de esas que reconfortan el alma y fortalecen la amistad.

Era el mes de agosto cuando ​decidimos emprender el viaje y recorrer varios kilómetros hasta llegar a un rincón muy especial: Playa Juticí, una pequeña playita de la zona que prácticamente solo los pobladores de Siboney conocemos. Al ser un sitio poco frecuentado y prácticamente desconocido para la mayoría, nos regaló un ambiente de paz y tranquilidad incomparable.

​Fue un tiempo maravilloso de esparcimiento, risas y verdadera comunión. Disfrutamos muchísimo de las cálidas y transparentes aguas del mar, donde pudimos nadar y relajarnos. La caminata hacia el lugar tuvo su encanto, e incluso encontramos rincones naturales impresionantes, como una cueva frente al mar que nos regaló una vista preciosa.

​Como en esta playa no hay muchos árboles que nos protegieran del sol, nos organizamos en equipo y creamos una especie de parabán improvisado para cubrirnos durante el día. Cada detalle del camino y de la estadía hizo que esta salida fuera única.

A pocos kilómetros de donde estuvimos se encuentra la franja costera de Siboney, una zona impregnada de historia y misticismo. Siglos atrás, las imponentes terrazas marinas y las cavernas que bordean la costa sirvieron de refugio a los antiguos aborígenes siboneyes. De hecho, la propia palabra Siboney proviene de la lengua arahuaca y significa "gente de la piedra" o "habitantes de las cuevas". Caminar por estas costas no es solo disfrutar del mar, sino también conectar con las raíces ancestrales de nuestra tierra.

​There are moments in life that, even as time passes, remain engraved in our memory with special affection. Today I want to share another beautiful experience lived with a group of brothers and sisters in Christ—one of those memories that warms the soul and strengthens friendship.

​It was in August when we decided to set off and travel several kilometers to reach a very special spot: Juticí Beach, a small hidden beach in the area that practically only the locals of Siboney know about. Being an unfrequented and mostly unknown spot, it gave us an atmosphere of incomparable peace and tranquility.

​It was a wonderful time of recreation, laughter, and true fellowship. We really enjoyed the warm, crystal-clear waters of the sea, where we were able to swim and relax. The walk to the spot had its own charm, and we even found impressive natural corners, such as a sea cave that gave us a beautiful view.

Since there aren't many trees on this beach to protect us from the sun, we organized ourselves as a team and built a sort of makeshift sunshade to cover us during the day. Every detail of the journey and the stay made this outing unique.

A few kilometers from where we were lies the coastal strip of Siboney, an area steeped in history and mysticism. Centuries ago, the imposing marine terraces and caverns along the coast provided shelter to the ancient Siboney indigenous people. In fact, the word Siboney comes from the Arawak language and translates to "people of the stone" or "cave dwellers". Walking along these shores is not only about enjoying the sea, but also about connecting with the ancestral roots of our land.

I thank God for these spaces of fellowship and for the opportunity to create such sweet memories in the company of dear friends.
