RE: Benches from around the world

(edited)

I've seen a few cool benches. There are some with statues on who you can sit with, e.g. Teddy Rooseveldt in the NYC Natural History Museum. I'm not sure if I have a photo of that.

I've met the guy who created this site to log benches with memorial plaques. @edent has a Hive account, but he's a crypto sceptic. There are lots of those around and I added a few. I'm not sure that we should duplicate that work on Hive, but we could perhaps tag some on @worldmappin that are cool and interesting. We should record if they have a nice view.

A site for just memorial benches is quite niche, but a very good idea, and the site is neat, loads very fast. It would be great if we have something similar on WMP for other structures, church, bridges etc.

It's a pity @edent isn't active on Hive, his own blog looks interesting, we need some way to attract more people like him to be active here

I've met him a few times and he does some cool stuff, but I think he has some issues with crypto/blockchain stuff. He's very active on Mastodon. He was just at this event that looks like my kind of thing.

I would think more Mastodon folk would like Hive as it is open source and decentralised, but crypto is not so popular there.

We do have the #ChurchProject that I am contributing to.
