RE: A place where the pain of 1919 still lingers.

Reading your post and looking at the photos, I could feel the pain, sadness and despair of everything that has happened in that place, as well as your own feelings as you walked through it. The park is beautiful; but as well as being a lovely place to stroll, with stunning buildings, there’s that deeply moving aspect, the memories and history, such as that wall so badly damaged by the British.

The monument is stunning and pays tribute to all those people; I was struck by the fact that so many threw themselves into that ravine to save their lives, what despair, really. Thank you for introducing us to this place, raising awareness of it and telling us its story. A big hug!🤗
