I live far from Thailand, but reading your posts makes me think the Thai government is working hard to shoot itself in the foot in so many ways and it's going backwards. Tell me if I'm wrong.
The tourism industry is going to take a huge hit this year due to the geo-political events and Thailand is not an exception in this regard. Many have been stuck in UAE as that's the stop they have to make on their way home and the situation is getting worse day by day as flight prices are sky high now.

well they were at a point where they were getting so many tourists in the past that they actually wanted to get less of them or as they were saying, they wanted more of the "right kind of tourists". The kind that come here for 2-3 weeks and spend a ton of money. So they started to whittle down the countries that they would allow and the duration of the visa and then of course the bribes and just stealing from people happening and the government claims they had no idea which is complete bullshit.
Basically they were like the tortoise and the hare sort of thing and they were the hare. They were so far ahead of everyone else that they started FA'ing... now they are FO'ing
